Ministerial Decree No. 24/2008 temporarily prohibiting the fishing and harvesting of Abalone (haliotis mariae).

This Decree prohibits the fishing and the harvesting of Abalone (haliotis mariae) during the fishing seasons of the years 2008, 2009 and 2010. It also prohibits the possession and the processing of Abalone during the ban period including the operations of transport, commerce, export and any other related activity. The presence of extraction tools is not allowed on boats and fishing vessels during the ban period.
