Abstract
This Decree establishes well-field protection zones in Wadi Uday, as shown in the attached Annex.
This Decree aims to protect groundwater from freshwater pollution, depletion and saltwater intrusion and to control the development of non-licenced lands and other projects that threaten the quality and the amount of water available in this region.
The Decree establishes the borders of well-field zones of the various regions in Wadi Uday, classifies them in three main protected areas (red area, orange area and yellow area) and defines their objectives.
The Decree concludes with a general action plan for the protection of well-field zones in Wadi Uday and specific action plans for each of the three protected areas.
