Abstract
This Decree establishes well-field protection zones in Salalah, as shown in the attached Annex. These zones will be dedicated to the development of national water.
This Decree aims to protect groundwater from freshwater pollution, depletion and saltwater intrusion and to control the development of non-licenced lands and other projects that threaten the quality and the amount of water available in this region.
The Decree establishes the borders of well-field zones of the various regions in Salalah, classifies them in five main protected areas (red area, red striped area, orange area, yellow area and green area) and defines their objectives.
The Decree concludes with a general action plan for the protection of well-field zones in Salalah and specific action plans for each of the five protected areas.
