Abstract
This Resolution amends the Food Safety Regulation of 2008 and establishes that the licensees to practice any activity related to food trading must adjust their status in accordance with this amendment within 6 months from the date of its enforcement.
The amendments introduced by this Resolution regard (i) the sanctions provided for in article 38; and (ii) the electronic control system for food establishments (listed in Annex 1) approved by the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources. According to this latter, it is established that (i) the food establishment official is obligated to install cameras inside the establishment before engaging in any food handling activity; (ii) the licensee must facilitate the inspectors the enter the food establishment, view everything related to the electronic control system, and provide with everything necessary to perform their work; and (iii) it is prohibited to stop the electronic monitoring system or to take any action that would affect it.
