Ministerial Resolution No.230/2014 issuing a regulation for fishing of the kanad (kingfish).

This Resolution consisting of 8 articles (i) prohibits to catch kingfish during the fertilization and natural breeding seasons, which start from 15 August until 15 October of each year. In the same period is also prohibited to trade (including buying and selling, transporting, storing and exporting, and all related activities) this kind of fish; (ii) bans the fishing of kingfish whose length is less than 65 centimeters, and the fishermen must immediately return the fish - whose length is less than the length prohibited for fishing - to the sea; (iii) establishes that anyone, including institutions and companies, who have quantities of kingfishes must register these quantities at the end of each fishing season with the fisheries departments in the Governorates; (iv) article 5 indicates the specifications of kingfish fishing nets.
