Ministerial Resolution No.65/2017 issuing the Regulation concerning the process of logging and charcoal.

This Regulation, consisting of 12 articles, aims at organizing operations as cut, uproot, collect or transport firewood by any means, whether in a personal or professional manner, as well as the process of turning wood into charcoal. In particular, it prohibits the following operations without a permit issued by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs: (i) the export of firewood and charcoal; (ii) timber cutting from State properties; and (iii) transforming wood into charcoal. The Regulation provides in details procedures to obtain the permit, fees and punishments.
