Abstract
This Regulation consists of 4 Chapters divided into 12 articles: General provisions and terms (I); Stone quarries and stone crushers (II); Protection of coasts, beaches and valleys (III); Offences and penalties (IV).
The exploitation of stone quarries may be carried out by obtaining a previous environmental licence from the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Environment with the approval of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (art. 2). Stone quarry sites shall be established far from populated zones, archaeological zones, tourism zones and agricultural zones (art. 3). It shall be prohibited to use chemical and radioactive sources without obtaining previous licence from the Ministry (art. 4). The validity of the Environmental Licence shall be 1 year, renewable (art. 5). Stone quarry owners shall respect the environmental requirements especially dust emission, and shall use the necessary measures to prevent these emissions (art. 6). It shall be prohibited to dig, excavate or transport sand from coasts, beaches and valleys without obtaining previous licence from the Ministry (art. 8). Every Municipality shall put signs along all coasts, valleys and beaches indicating this prohibition (art. 9).
