Royal Decree No. 40/2000 issuing the Law on Protection of Geographical Indications.

This Law provides for the recognition, registration, use and protection of geographical indications. The competent authorities or any interested group of producers or consumers has the right to equal protection under this Law. The Law allows any interested parties to appeal to the Commercial Court to prevent the false use of a geographical indication.
