Abstract
This Law consisting of 49 articles divided in 6 Chapters aims at protecting consumer health and rights. It prohibits: trading in any commodity or providing any services without meeting health and safety conditions and obtaining the licenses or permits from the competent body; advertising any commodity or providing any service without obtaining the approval of the competent body; trading in any adulterated, corrupt, counterfeit or not authorized commodities; engaging in any practice aiming to monopolize the trading of a commodity. It provides also for: specific warning given in Arabic and English for any commodity or service that can cause damages to the consumer; commercial activity registrations; suspension or destruction of provision of services or commodities trading in dangerous circumstances; curtailing the increase in prices in exceptional circumstances; disputes between the provider and the consumer; examination of any commodities; bulletins to inform consumers; actions to guarantee consumer rights or public health.
Consumers’ rights are indicated as: correct information; freedom of choice; quality of products; consumer’s health and safety; fair compensation for damages; interests of the consumer be represented; and respect the consumers’ religious values and customs.
The 6 Chapters are entitled as follows: Definitions and General Provisions (1); Consumers’ Rights (2); The Obligations of the Provider, Advertiser and Agent (3); Regulating Violations (4); Penalties (5); Final Provisions (6).

Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force 90 days after its publication in the Official Gazette.

The Consumer Protection Law promulgated by Royal Decree No. 81/2002 is revoked.
