Royal Decree No.40/2018 assigning some specialties.

This Decree consisting of 5 articles aims at authorizing the Ministry of Oil and Gas to execute the general policy of the State on energy sector (art.1). All powers and prerogatives assigned to the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) associated with the electricity sector are transferred to the Ministry, which will therefore also be in charge of assuming the competences concerning the sector (art.2). Article 3 transfers to the Ministry all records, allocations and assets related to the electricity sector, as well as the electricity sector departments and employees, along with their existing job positions and grades. The transfer shall be implemented in accordance with the mechanism to be agreed by the Ministry of Oil and Gas and the chairman of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water .
