Submission on Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (lNDCs).

This Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDC) is a nationwide sectoral document prepared in coordination with the various stakeholders as per the mandate of Conference of the Parties (COP) and by its decision 11CP.19. It aims to declare the national commitment towards achieving the objective of the Convention. It aims at reducing GHG emissions by 2% in the Energy, Industrial processes, and Waste sectors. Mitigation contributions envisaged are (i) reduction in gas flaring from oil industries; (ii) increase the share of renewable energy; (iii) increase the energy efficiency projects among industries; (iv) develop new legislation on climate change which will support the adoption of low carbon and energy efficiency technologies; (v) reduction of hydro chlorofluorocarbons (HCFC) use in foam and refrigeration sector.
To make agriculture and fisheries more productive and sustainable, the INDC shall intervene in building capacity in the following (i) fisheries and marine environment; (ii) agriculture sector; (iii) water sector.
To increase the resilience of livelihoods to disasters, the interventions need to be provided in the following (i) coastal erosion and sea level rise; (ii) water scarcity and desertification; (iii) flood protection; (iv) energy security and development of renewable energy; (v) low carbon transport initiatives and technologies among the industries; (vi) health sector.
