Abstract
This Regulation makes provision with respect to conditions, procedures and form of approval of environment permits and provisional environment impact statements as provided for by the Environment Act 2000.
The Regulation provides with respect to procedures of application for a permit, for notification of the application and, in case that a real risk to the environment may result from a proposed activity, for the convening of public hearings. The Director of Environment may require the applicant to engage an independent expert to consider particular issues relating to the application for a permit and submit a report to the Director. The Regulation also provides with respect to the modification of a permit and allows a person who is dissatisfied with a decision of the Director under this Regulation in relation to an application to apply under section 68 of the Act for a review of the decision by the Council.
