Abstract
This Regulation specifies various categories of activities as Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 activities for purposes of the Environment Act 2000. An activity that falls into a Level 2 activity is further classified into Category A activity or Category B activity for the purposes of the Act. The Regulation also provides that, where an activity involves two or more categories of Level 2 or Level 3 activity or both, an application for a permit in relation to that activity shall identify all the categories of Level 2 or Level 3 activity that are relevant to the application.
Classified activities include forestry and agricultural operations, aquaculture, waste disposal, abstraction of water, water discharge and operation of potable water treatment plants.
