Abstract
These Regulations relate to fishing within the territorial waters of Papua New Guinea and consist of 9 sections; Interpretation (1); Persons licensed to engage in fishing (2); Fishing boat licences (3); Fishing ship licences (4); Transfer of licence (5); Lost, destroyed or defaced licence (6); Form of register (7); Fees (8) and Requirements for marking of licensed fishing boats (9).
Persons must apply for a licence in order to take, carry and process fish. Licenced boats must display their name and licence number on the boat (sect. 9). The Regulations are completed by forms relating to application of licences (Schedule 1) and Schedule 2 relating to the scale of fees of licences.
