Abstract
This Act amends the Section 2 of the Principal Act by inserting the definition of forest clearing authority. It also makes several amendments in: Section 55 on the types of land on which forest industry activities may be permitted; Section 90A relating to the application for a forestry clearing authority for the purpose of clearance of natural forest on areas designated for agriculture or other land use development, and required documents; Section 90B on the evaluation of an application by the Provincial Forest Management Committee; Section 90C on the application for a forestry clearing authority for the purpose of large scale conversion of forest to road; Section 90D on the evaluation of application according to Section 90C; Section 90E regarding the cancellation of forest clearing authority to carry out an agricultural or other land use, or to carry out a construction of a road under Sections 90B and 90D; Section 98 about the bond for forest clearing authority to carry out an agricultural or other land use development or roadline development; Section 105 regarding the obligation to be registered as a forest industry participant; Section 122 on offences and penalties; and Section 123 relating to non-compliance with the authority or permit granted under the principal Act.
