Forestry Amendment Act 2019 / Act No. 2 of 2019

The Act amends section 121 of the Forestry Act 1991 by repealing and replacing it with a new section as follows; “121(1) there shall be a management levy payable on the production of timber or forest produce taken or deemed to be taken by the holder of the timber permit, a timber authority, or a timber licence for the purpose of financing the management and operations of the Authority; (2) The Head of State acting on advice shall prescribe in the regulation – (a) a levy known as management levy and payable at the prescribed rate on all timber or forest produce; and (b) the different rates of management levy on the different types on grades of timber or forest produce; and (c) for the method and manner of calculation collection and payment of management levy.”
