Abstract
This Act lays down provisions on the establishment and functions of the Mulitaka Resettlement Authority and its board; staff and funds of the Authority; and suspension of the Board and transfer of the Board's functions and powers to Minister. The functions of the Authority are listed in Section 4, including but not limited to: to identify and determine number of families within the Mulitaka landslide area; to provide for care centers and associated services, such as health care, education, food and a safe water supply, until such time as displaced persons are resettled; to liaise and coordinate with relevant government agencies, donors and international organizations for funding and technical assistance; and to coordinate rehabilitation programs in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
