Oil and Gas Amendment Act 2020 / Act No. 3 of 2020

Being an Act to amend the Oil and Gas Act 1998.

The Act amends the principal Act Oil and Gas Act 1998 on the Form of applicant for petroleum development licence (s.54), notification of grant of petroleum development licence (s.56) and inserting of new sections 56A, 56B, 56C on Minister’s instrument of notification to applicant, Minister to inform applicant within 30 days and Minister’s powers respectively; Amendment of section 57 on Grant or refusal of petroleum development licence and inserting of new section 57A and 57B on the Minister to approve applicant’s proposal upon satisfaction including Minister may refuse grant by instrument; repeal and replacement of section 183 and 184 on petroleum and gas agreement; repeal and replacement of section 185 on agreement by the State; inserting new sections 191,192, 193 and 194, on matters before date of commencement where some sections does not apply before the date of commencement of the 2020 amendment; Section 192 to 194 highlights amendment of section 54(3), 56 and 57 respectively;
