Abstract
This Order lays down the objectives for promoting agricultural development that is compatible with the conservation of the ecosystem in agricultural and fisheries areas; ensuring judicious use of the country's natural resources and conserving genetic diversity of biological resources used for food and agriculture; initiating and strengthening the institutionalization of Principles of Biodiversity-Friendly Agricultural Practices (BDFAP) in multiple use and buffer zones of protected areas; providing the framework as basis for the future formulation of standards on BDFAP and for covering the wider agricultural landscapes. The text further refers to strategies and approaches for mainstreaming BDFAP technical consideration for BDFAP such as terrestrial farm, aquaculture, marine and coastal ecosystem. The Order provides for general consideration for BDFAP within protected areas that relates to conservation of native species, protected areas for indigenous peoples and local communities. The Order further discuss on institutional support to on-farm conservation and forest lands, capacity building, establishment of demo farms for extension of support, research and development and monitoring. The Order consists of 14 Sections.

This Order shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in a newspaper of general circulation and upon acknowledgement thereof by the UP Office of the National Administrative Registrar (ONAR).
