Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to promote production of and achieve self-sufficiency in milk and milk products, and to generate employment and increase the level of income in the rural areas through dairy production.
This Act provides for the establishment of the Philippine Dairy Corporation, for its composition and for its powers and functions. Powers and functions shall include: construct, equip, manage, operate, lease, purchase or sell dairy production facilities, milk distribution facilities, etc. ; produce, store, transport, distribute, buy, sell milk and dairy products; and buy, import, store, distribute and sell dairy animals, semen, feed, forage seeds, fertilizers, etc. as may be needed by the dairy industry. The Ministry of Agriculture shall help organize small producers of milk into cooperatives or other forms of organizations to achieve the purposes of this Act.
