Abstract
This Administrative Order aims at providing the criteria for the identification and procedures for the delineation and/or demarcation of management zones within protected areas.
The Administrative Order provides for the rationalization of management zones by classifying them into Multiple Use Zones (MUZ) and Strict Protection Zones (SPZ) (amending, therefore, section 10 of DAO No. 25). MUZ being zones for settlement, traditional and/or sustainable land-use, including agriculture, agroforestry, etc. and SPZ being zones consisting of natural areas with high biodiversity value including habitats of threatened species or degraded areas designated for restoration.
