Abstract
This Joint Administrative Order prescribes guidelines and procedures for the recognition, documentation, registration and confirmation of all Sustainable Traditional and Indigenous Forest Resources Management Systems and Practices (STIFRMSP) of Indigenous Cultural Communities or Indigenous Peoples in ancestral domain/land so as to protect and guarantee their right to pursue their economic and cultural well being and to enable equitable sharing of benefits from the natural resources found within their ancestral lands/domains.
The Joint Administrative Order further provides for: roles and responsibilities of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples and of the indigenous socio-political structures; recognition of indigenous and traditionally managed forests systems and practices; documentation parameters of STIFRMSP; registration of the indigenous and traditionally managed forests; resources management and sustainability; management strategies and conservation measures; etc.
