This Executive Order No. 5 is issued for the purpose of approving and adopting the twenty-five-year long term vision entitled Ambisyon Natin 2040 as guide for development planning.
Ambisyon Natin 2040 is hereby adopted as the twenty-five-year long-term vision for the Philippines. The Ambisyon Natin 2040 vision is: By 2040, the Philippines shall be a prosperous, predominantly middle-class society where no one is poor; our peoples shall live long and healthy lives, be smart and innovative, and shall live in a high-trust society. The Philippine Government hereby aims t o triple real per capita incomes and eradicate hunger and poverty by 2040. The four medium-term Philippine Development Plans to be crafted and implemented until 2040 shall be anchored on the Ambisyon Natin 2040 and overall goals.
