Abstract
This Act declares Mt. Kitanglad Range a protected area considering the importance of its unique biological resources and its economical and ecological importance.
The Act specifies the boundaries of Mt. Kitanglad Range protected area and of the buffer zones surrounding it.
For the protection and preservation of Mt. Kitanglad Range protected area a management plan shall be prepared by the Protected Area Superintendent and approved by the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) as provided for in the Act. The Act defines the Board’s internal composition and its powers and functions.
The Act further provides for: rights of the indigenous peoples to the ancestral lands and domains within the protected area; rights of tenure migrants and transient framers within the protected area; acts prohibited within the protected area; establishment of an Integrated Protected Area Fund; etc.
