National Ecotourism Strategy.

This Policy adapts the concept of ecotourism as a form of sustainable tourism within a natural and cultural heritage area where community participation, protection and management of natural resources, culture and indigenous knowledge and practices, environmental education and ethics, as well as economic benefits are fostered and pursued for the enrichment of host communities and the satisfaction of visitors. To promote sustainable development in the Philippines, the National Ecotourism Steering Committee and the Regional Ecotourism Committees, in consultation with the regional stakeholders, have formulated this strategy for the development of ecotourism throughout the country. The text consists of 7 Sections as follow: Introduction (1); Situation Analysis (2); Strategic Framework (3); Institutional Arrangement (4); National Ecotourism Program (5); Action Plans (6) and Appendixes (7). The National Ecotourism Program provides for key ecotourism sites, product development, marketing, education and advocacy, support program, ecotourism fund and monitoring and evaluation.
