Presidential Decree No. 768, s.1975. Amending Presidential Decree No.198 Entitled: "Declaring a National Policy Favoring Local Operation and Control of Water System".

This Presidential Decree is issued as the government is in charge of developing effective system of local water utilities particularly in the area of water supply and sewerage services. Presidential Decree No.198 issued as a national policy for local operation and control of water systems, formation of local water districts to facilitate improvement of local water utilities. This Decree needs to be amended in certain provisions in order to hasten and make the implementation and administration more effective. The amendments mainly refer to business system administration, directors duties and performance, office administration, district nomination, protection of waters and facilities of districts, district funds, water rates and charges, compensation, borrowing and security, control and supervision, tax and relevant exemptions. The Order consists of 40 Sections in which amendments are referred.
