Abstract
This Ordinance provides for the establishment of a Milk Board in any local area and defines its composition and its functions and powers.
The main functions of the Board are to prepare and execute schemes for regulating the production, marketing and distribution of milk and milk products. The Board may also have the power, with the previous approval of the government, to: fix prices for the sale of milk and milk products; prohibit the production, marketing or sale of milk and milk products which are below standards of quality; require the registration of cattle and of milk producers; prohibit the keeping of cattle except under specific conditions; etc.
The Ordinance further provides for: establishment of a Milk Board Fund; rule and regulation making powers of the Government; audit and accounts of the Board; penalties; etc.
