Abstract
The Gilgit-Baltistan Pure Food Act, 2011, is a comprehensive legal framework aimed at ensuring the provision of pure, wholesome, and unadulterated food in Gilgit-Baltistan. It defines adulterated and misbranded food, sets standards for food quality and labeling, and empowers government authorities to regulate, inspect, and enforce compliance within the food industry. The Act prohibits the manufacture, sale, and distribution of food that is harmful, adulterated, or not meeting prescribed standards, and establishes licensing, inspection, sampling, and analysis procedures.
