Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Water Act 2020.

This Act is enacted to comprehensively manage and regulate water resources in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the interest of conservation and sustainability.
The Act consists of 58 Sections divided into 12 Chapters: Preliminary (I); Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Water Resources Commission (II); Regulations of Water and Sewerage Services (III); Water Service Providers and Sewerage Service Providers (IV); Water Supply (V); Provision of Sewerage Services (VI); Charges for Services Provided by Service Providers (VII); Abstraction and Disposal Approvals (VIII); Water Conservation during Droughts (IX); Duties with regard to Environmental and Recreational Purposes (X); Controlled Waters (XI); Miscellaneous (XII).
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Water Resources Commission, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Water Resources Regulatory Authority shall be established. The approvals to abstract water may be one of the three types: 1. an approval to abstract water from one source of supply; 2. an approval to abstract water from one source of supply for the purpose of transferring to another source of supply; 3. an approval to abstract water from one source of supply for the purpose of transferring to the same source of supply at another point.
