Abstract
This Act provides for the establishment of the Lahore Development Authority, defines its powers and functions and provides for its administration and functioning.
Powers and functions of the Authority include: preparation, implementation and enforcement of schemes for environmental improvement and solid waste disposal; acquisition of property; and sale, lease or disposal of property.
The Act further provides for: powers of the Authority to give directions to Government Agencies, execute schemes, act as a Local Council, levy and assess betterment fees in respect of property, remove sources of pollution, etc.; establishment of a fund to be known as the “Lahore Development Authority Fund”; offences and penalties; etc.

Notes
This Act repeals the Lahore Water and Sewerage Authority Act, 1975 and the Town Improvement Act, 1922, which shall cease to apply to the Lahore City District Area.
