Abstract
This Act provides for the establishment of the Muree-Kahuta Development Authority, defines its powers and functions and provides for its administration and functioning.
Powers and functions of the Authority include: preparation, implementation and enforcement of schemes for development of agriculture and industry, forest conservation, preservation of wildlife, development of irrigation facilities, improvement of water supply, sewerage, drainage and environmental improvement; acquisition of property; and sale, lease or disposal of property.
The Act further provides for: powers of the Authority to give directions to Government Agencies, to levy and assess betterment fees in respect of property, etc.; establishment of a fund to be known as the “Authority Fund”; offences and penalties; etc.
