National Environmental Quality Standards for Noise.

These National Standards are formulated in accordance with the Pakistan Environmental Protection Act, 1997 (XXXIV of 1997) for noise control.
In the Standards, there are four categories of area/zone: residential zone, commercial zone, industrial zone and silence zone. A silence zone shall be an area comprising not less than 100 meters around hospitals, educational institutions and courts, which is declared as such by the competent authority.
