Abstract
These Rules are enacted in accordance with the Pakistan Environmental Protection Act, 1997 (XXXIV of 1997).
An industrial unit liable to pay the pollution charge shall itself be responsible for ensuring the correct calculation, reporting and payment of the pollution charge. The pollution charge shall be calculated by multiplying the pollution level with the actual production during the period for which the charge is to be paid, and with the applicable rate per pollution unit for the year in accordance with the rates and escalation table shown in Schedule III.
