Abstract
The Act introduces several amendments to the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority Ordinance, 2002, including the addition of new clauses to section 2. These new clauses define terms such as disposal of goods, and public asset. The Act also introduces a new section, 20A, which requires procuring agencies to have a mechanism for grievance redressal of bidders during procurement. The Act further amends the long title of the Ordinance to include the disposal of public assets. It also amends the preamble to include the disposal of public assets in the regulation of public procurement processes. The Act aims to improve transparency and accountability in public procurement processes by introducing stricter regulations and mechanisms for grievance redressal. It also seeks to ensure that public assets are disposed of in a responsible and sustainable manner.
