Abstract
This Act, consisting of 18 sections, establishes the Punjab Heritage Foundation in the Province of the Punjab, aimed to protect archaeological, architectural, historical or cultural site notified to be a Punjab Heritage by the Government. The primary purpose of the Foundation is the preservation, conservation, maintenance and rehabilitation of the Punjab Heritage through various means, including technical or financial assistance and to create awareness among people for the preservation of the Punjab Heritage. The management, overall control and supervision of the affairs of the Foundation, shall vest in the Board of Governors. In addition, the Act creates the Punjab Heritage Fund, entitled to finance related activities aimed to the conservation of the Punjab Heritage.
