Punjab Minor Canals Act, 1905 (Punjab Act No. III of 1905).

This Act provides for the control and management of minor canals specified in Schedule I or II.
The Act prohibits the construction of canals without permission and sets out procedures to obtain permission. It also empowers the Provincial Government to assess and levy water dues in respect of all canals.
In addition, the Act contains provisions applicable only to canals under Schedule I and separate provisions applicable only to canals under Schedule II.
The Act further contains provisions applicable to all canals including: settlement of disputes; powers of the Provincial Government to acquire private canals with or without the consent of the owners and regulate the construction and use of mills; powers of the Provincial Government to regulate the flow of water in rivers, creeks, natural channels or lines of natural drainage and to prohibit their obstruction; assessment and payment of compensation; offences; etc.
