Abstract
This Act provides for governance and operation of the management and financial efficiency of state-owned enterprises owned and controlled by the Federal government. The Act outlines requirements for shareholding responsibilities of the Federal government with respect to its state owned enterprises, management of associated fiscal risks, role of the government in the governance of the state-owned enterprises, ensuring competitive neutrality framework in the enterprises, and the process for evaluating the performance of independent directors. The Act provides for state-owned enterprises management policy and principles, measurable performance, responsible and enforceable management, corporate governance, shareholding rights, monitoring and enforcement. The text consists of 37 Articles divided into 11 Chapters and has 6 Schedules.
