Act on materials and products intended to come into contact with food.

The Act establishes conditions for producing and processing materials and products intended to come into contact with food. Moreover, it establishes marketing conditions applicable to such materials, in order to ensure food safety and hence human health. The application scope does not include: materials covering or coating of foodstuffs which are a part of these foodstuffs and can be consumed together with them; materials and products used in water supply installations and equipment or being antique objects; materials and products intended to export to non-member countries of the European Union. The Annex specifies the symbol to be shown on materials and products intended to come into contact with food.
