Abstract
The Act is composed of eight Sections: General provisions (sect. 1); Utilization pollution from vessels (Sec.2); Sinking of wastes and other substances from vessels (sect. 3); Preventing water pollution and international cooperation (sect. 4); Control on vessels (sect. 5); Functioning of directorate of the marine office (sect. 6); Penal provisions (sect. 7); Changes in valid provisions, and final provisions (sect. 8). The Act applies to: vessels on Polish marine areas; Polish vessels which are out of Polish marine areas. A vessel can be allowed to navigate in maritime waters only when it fulfills the conditions of marine pollution prevention hereby established. .

The Act enters into force 3 months after publication in the Journal of Laws.
