Act on registration and protection of designations of origin, geographical indications and guaranteed traditional specialties of agricultural products and foodstuffs, wines or spirits, and on traditional products.

This Act regulates provisions concerning registration and protection of designations of origin, geographical indications and guaranteed traditional specialties of agricultural products and foodstuffs, wines or spirits, and on traditional products. The present Act lays down: (1) the competence of authorities to perform the tasks set out in Regulation (EU) No. 1151/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council on quality schemes for agricultural products and foodstuffs; (2) rules and procedure for the registration of: (a) designations of origin, geographical indications and traditional specialties guaranteed for agricultural products and foodstuffs, (b) designations of origin, geographical indications and traditional indications for wine sector products; (c) geographical indications of spirit drinks; (3) rules and procedure for international registration of geographical indications; (4) rules and mode of control and certification; (5) conditions for protection in the territory of the Republic of Poland of designations of origin, geographical indications and traditional specialties guaranteed for agricultural products and foodstuffs, designations of origin and geographical indications for wines, geographical indications for spirit drinks, traditional terms for wine; (6) rules for maintaining the list of traditional products and the procedure for obtaining an entry on this list.
