Act on registration and protection of names and symbols of agricultural products, foodstuffs, and traditional products.

This Act consists of the following Sections: General provisions (sect. 1); Organs competent to assess applications for registration (sect. 2); Proceedings on assessment of applications for registration (sect. 3); Proceedings in case of objection (sect. 4); National protection (sect. 5); Inspection of agricultural products and foodstuffs, applied by the producer (sect. 6); Fees (sect. 7); List of traditional products (sect. 8); Penal provisions (sect. 9); Changes in valid provisions (sect. 10); Transitional and final provisions (sect. 11). The Act lays down principles of: tasks of organs concerning assessment of applications for registration of appelations of origin, geographical symbols and names of specific character of agricultural products or foodstuffs; conditions of transitional protection of appellations of origin and geographical symbols of agricultural products and foodstuffs on the territory the Republic of Poland; tasks of organs and organizational units concerning inspection and certification of agricultural products and foodstuffs with the protected appellation of origin, protected geographical symbol or certificate of a specific character; principles and modalities of inspection of agricultural products and foodstuffs with the protected appellation of origin, protected geographical symbol or certificate of a specific character; conditions of registering traditional products.
