Abstract
Performing the profession of veterinarian consists in the protection of animals health and veterinary protection of public health and the environment, and in particular: (1) examination of the health state of animals; (2) recognizing, preventing and fighting against diseases of animals; (3) treatment of animals; (4) issuing veterinary opinions; (5) examination of slaughter animals, meat and other products of animal origin; (6) veterinary supervision over trade in animals; (7) examination and veterinary assessment of feed and medicated feed as well as conditions for their production and distribution; 8) use of veterinary medicinal products issued on the prescription of a veterinarian; (9) issuing prescriptions for medicinal products. The present Act is composed of the following sections: Performing veterinarian profession (Sec. 1); Tasks and functioning of self-government veterinarians (Sec. 2); Rights and obligations of members (Sec. 3); Regional veterinary chambers (Sec. 4); National Veterinary Chamber (Sec. 5); Professional liability (Sec. 6); Amicable settlement of disputes (Sec. 7); Property and financial management (Sec. 8); Specific, transitional and final provisions (Sec. 9).
