Abstract
This National Strategy for Environmental Awareness and Education is a nationwide sectoral document aiming at (i) moving the society from the stage of theoretical knowledge of the environmental issues to the stage of behavior and practice; (ii) integrating all segments of society into the process; (iii) integrating environmental values to become an essential part of the educational process. These goals can be reached through the following 3 main strategic objectives (i) effective and efficient environmental media in raising the environmental level. The goal covers the environmental media in all its aspects, given the great importance of communicating the environmental message and clarifying concepts to raise awareness and knowledge among the groups of society and motivating them to use that knowledge and transform it into an appropriate and environmentally friendly behavior; (ii) creative and integrated educational curricula, methods, and activities. This goal deals with environmental education at all levels, whether it is school education, pre-school education, or higher education; (iii) high-end environmental values and practices by groups of society. This goal comes to reinforce the previous goals, with the accumulated knowledge of their enhancement and transformation into daily practiced behavior.
