Abstract
This Decree consisting of 5 articles aims at establishing a National Committee on Avian Influenza Control that will be the only body authorized to manage the national efforts to counter the spread of bird flu and the obligation to compensate for damages to those affected.
Main tasks of the National Committee are: take preventive measures to limit the spread of the disease among birds and to prevent the transmission of the disease to humans; provide the necessary procedures for isolation, quarantine and treatment in endemic areas in the case of transmission of the disease to humans; take the necessary measures regarding import and export of goods related to illness; provide the necessary financial backing and develop a system of compensation for those affected; and contact the neighboring countries and international agencies to coordinate technical and financial assistance.
