Abstract
This Decree-Law, composed of 25 articles and 3 Annexes, regulates the quality of water used for human consumption. It aims at protecting human health from harmful effects caused by water contamination, by ensuring that it is wholesome and clean. It introduces into national legal system the Council Directive 98/83/EC on the quality of water intended for human consumption. The provisions set in this Decree-Law do not apply for natural spa water and spring water used as medical products.
