Abstract
This Decree-Law revokes Decree-Law No. 290/90, establishing the legal regime for the transport and placing on the market of livestock and fresh-meat products. It is composed of 3 chapters and 5 annexes. Chapter I deals with the internal trade of meat. It defines "livestock", "meat", "fresh meat" and "meat products", laying down the sanitary requirements to be satisfied for certification which is granted by sanitary authorities. It also prescribes all requirements for the transport of live animals or meat products. Chapter II establishes controls, sanctions and special provisions to be adopted. Chapter III deals with final provisions. The annexes list the model forms relating to such activity.
