Abstract
This Decree-Law transposes into the national legal order the Council EC Directive 86/363/CEE on the fixing of maximum levels for some pesticide residues in and on foodstuffs of animal origin in the consolidated version of the Commission Directive No. 2003/60/CE. It therefore repeals the former Order No. 188/97 of 18 March 1997. The Decree-Law, composed of 15 articles and 2 annexes, establishes the products for which circulation is forbidden and the maximum levels of pesticide residues allowed. It regulates the exchanges within the European Community and empowers the General Director for Veterinary to establish the regime for the fixing of maximum levels for residues. It also rules on the control sampling times and methods, establishing as supervision bodies in charge for the inspection the General Directorate for Veterinary (DGV) and the Regional Directorates for Agriculture (DRA). The Decree-Law sets the sanctions and related fines for non-compliance.
