Abstract
This Decree-Law is composed of seven Chapters divided in 20 articles and two Annexes. It introduces in the national legal order the EC Directive No. 2004/116/CE. The Decree-Law approves the provisions regulating the commercialization and use in animal foodstuff of certain artificial products containing proteins. The Decree-Law applies to food additives, to maximum residues limit fro agrochemicals used in the products, commercialization of animal food, pathogenic micro-organisms contained in animal food. Moreover, the Decree-Law regulates authorization and market placement procedures, identifying the competent authorities. Finally, it rules on official control activities. The Annex provides guidelines for assessing certain products used in animal food production.
