Abstract
The regional authorities in the fields of agriculture, livestock, rural development and forestry (DRA "Direcções Regionais de Agricultura"), mentioned in Decree-Law No. 74/96, are services under the competence of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries (MADRP "Ministério da Agricultura, do Desenvolvimento Rural e das Pescas"). They have an autonomous administration, under the direct supervision of the Minister. This Decree-Law is divided into 3 Chapters detailing the administrative structure, competencies and duties of such sub-national authorities.
