Abstract
This Decree-Law defines the obligations of third country fishing vessels captains when landing in national harbours as well as controls on fish catch, including cases in which vessels merely transit on waters under Portuguese jurisdiction. This Decree-Law defines commercial "fishing vessels" and prescribes landing or transhipment procedures specifying all vessel information required (shipowner identification, precise position of the vessel, landing harbour, fish caught, etc.). Landing procedures must be authorized by the General Direction of Fisheries. The present Decree-Law also prescribes sanctions for non-compliance.
